The contracts of the Cekmekoy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli subway line and Sarıgazi-Taşdelen-Yenidoğan subway line were signed by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality
Contracts for Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli and Sarıgazi-Taşdelen-Yenidoğan subway lines to ease the transportation of Anatolian side were signed with the ceremony attended by Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Kadir Topbaş.
Speaking at a ceremony held in the municipal building in Saraçhane, Topbas said that they continued their investment in the system without slowing down.
Describing the happiness of signing the contract of two new subway lines which are very important for the transportation of Istanbul Topbas said, "We are together to sign the contract of our subway line which is very important for Istanbul and will make a new contribution in transportation. I say "make good in Istanbul" I believe that it will be served in 2020 so that our people can easily access from one end of Istanbul to the other” he said.
Topbaş emphasized that daily mobility, which was around 11 million in 2004 in Istanbul, has reached almost 30 million, continued as follows:
"In the near future it will find 45-50 millions. For this reason, we put Istanbul's transportation systems in a priority and weighted position. The more accurate and regular the transportation systems of a city, the better the quality of life in that city, the greater the competitiveness and the more jobs it opens We also allocate a large part of our budget, about 50 percent investment opportunities. In 13 years, we invested only in transportation, close to 42 billion or even 43 billion in Istanbul. As of 2017, we have about 5 billion pounds of transportation related investment program. "
