In June, housing sales decreased by 8.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Thus, it was the most severe decline since July 2016.
In May, home sales rose only by 1.5 percent.
House sales in June were 97 thousand 579. In residential sales, Istanbul had the highest share with 18,4 percent sales in 17 thousand 970 houses. According to the sales figures, İzmir followed with sales of 10,161 houses and 10,4 percent shares in Ankara, 6,34 houses and 6.2 percent share respectively.
In Turkey, mortgage sales decreased by 3.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 35 thousand 210. The share of mortgage sales in total housing sales was 36.1 percent.
The number of houses sold for the first time in Turkey decreased by 7.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and was 45 thousand 433. Second-hand housing sales decreased by 8.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and realized as 52 thousand 146.
SALES TO FOREIGNERS HAS INCREASED RAPIDLY
Household sales made by foreigners increased by 24.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 1.926. In June 2017, Istanbul received the first order with 903 residential sales in foreign residential sales. With the sale of 408 houses in Istanbul respectively, with the sale of 93 houses in Bursa, 77 houses in Aydın, 68 houses in Ankara and 60 houses in Muğla, respectively.
In June, citizens of Saudi Arabia bought 612 houses from Turkey. Saudi Arabia in turn followed with 239 houses in Iraq, 136 houses in Kuwait, 115 houses in Russian Federation and 87 houses in England.
