Urban transformation in Turkey, Istanbul Investment, Realty Sector in Turkey

‘Uskudar Reconstruction Plan for Protecting Areas Revision Nazim’, which is going to smooth the way for urban transformation works in 16 neighbourhoods, which contain half of the population of Uskudar, has been accepted by majority of votes in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

16 Out of 33 Neighbourhoods Will be Urbanised

Uskudar, in which there are 33 neighbourhoods, will undergo an urban transformation in 16 of its neighbourhoods, which are, Kandilli, Kuleli, Kucuksu, Cengelkoy, Guzeltepe, Bahcelievler, Mehmet Akif Ersoy, Yavuzturk, Kirazlitepe, Kupluce, Beylerbeyi, Burhaniye, Ferah, Kisikli, Kuzguncuk and Icadiye. 270.000 people, which is almost the half of the population of Uskudar, live in these areas.

Project Will be Launched in April”

Mayor of Uskudar, Hilmi Turkmen, who has answered the questions about the urban transformation which will be in Uskudar, says that 1/1000 scaled plan, which is a smaller scaled plan, will be ready to be submitted to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in April. He also says: “This project smooths the way for urban transformation in Uskudar. The area is full of unlicensed constructions. We are solving a 30 years old-problem.”

“We Are Against to Building Complex, There Will Be Texture of Neighbourhood”

Turkmen, who states that there are main principles for the houses which will be constructed, says: “Our houses will have aesthetic appearance, people will talk about the houses of Uskudar. Secondly, We are against to structures such as building complex. We are happy with neighbourhood lifestyle. Finally, there will be no project without a parking area.”

“Those who make a deal first, will have a right to settle in first”

Turkmen, who says that the works will start with dwelling productions in areas which belong to Uskudar Municipality, also states that TOKI will build 181 houses in this area by the end of 2016.
