Minister of Environment and Urbanisation, Sari, has announced that there will be urban transformation in Okmeydani and Sultanbeyli.
After solving 50 years of deed problem in Okmeydani, Istanbul, urban transformation has been started. Fatma Guldemet Sari, Minister of Environment and Urbanisation, has announced that there will be urban transformation in Okmeydani and Sultanbeyli.
It Concerns 24.000 houses in Okmeydani
Minister Sari, who states that it has been studying on Urban Transformation Law, also says that there will be urban transformation in Okmeydani and Sultanbeyli. While stating that the urban transformation will concern 24.000 houses in Okmeydani, Sari says: “A nice work will be done in Okmeydani. This area consists of 24.000 houses.
There are 5.585 buildins in the area. There are some wrecked ones among those, of course. We are talking about an transformation project which concerns 24.000 families. Protected areas will be protected and it is planned to get inspired by motives of Ottoman and Seljuq architecture while using modern architecture during transformation process. Beyoglu’s Mayor might have shared the model project with you. An area is being built there both for tourism and trading. There will be changes as the project goes on and this project will change Beyoglu.”
