On Sunday, Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has talked in the favor of Syrian people. He said, “Turkey will continue siding Syrian people against a regime, Daesh, Foreign powers, and state elements aiming occupation.”
The recent press conference held in the Saudi capital Riyadh, the following statement has been released by Davutoğlu telling that, “Saudi Arabia and Turkey will continue supporting the moderate Syrian opposition, spotting the regime and Daesh terror organization, that were the main reason for causing the barbaric massacred, are guilty equally.”
Davutoğlu further strongly criticized the Russian’s barbaric behavior for Syrian and its people and putting no stop to their continued violation of Turkey’s airspace. He added, “”We warn Russia once again that the harm done to opposition elements, moderate opposition and the hostile attitude towards Turkey’s airspace are not for the benefit of Russia.”
He further added to the statement that, “”When locations of ongoing Russian airstrikes are concerned, it’s understood Russia doesn’t have good intentions in Syria.” He strongly emphasized the current airstrikes that have kept the Turkmen areas located in the Northwest Latakia region the main target. Not only was this but he talking against the moderate opposition clashing Syrian regime, Idlib Provinces along with the Deash in Aleppo, all.
Davutoğlu didn’t stop here and further commented on the ongoing Russian destructions of Turkey’s airspace. He, in this context said that for Russia, it is nearly impossible to hide destruction or even claim a non-existing destruction. This statement was made especially in the last destruction that lasted merely for few days. Both, Turkey and NATO radars detected and revealed that it was done by the Russia. He continued saying that he or Turkey didn’t mean the rise the tension with Russia, but protecting its airspace is important anyway.
The meeting with Saudi Officials and Davutoğlu was continued even on the last day of the visit. The visit also included the performing of “umrah” in Mecca along with making a visit to the tomb of Prophet Muhammad in Medina during the first two days of his visit.
The visit also includes the lunch in the honor of Saudi King Salman and continued with meeting the Defense Minister Muhammad bin Salman, and Foreign Minister Adel-al-Jubier that took up the discussion of regional developments and bilateral relation like the talks in Geneva, Yemen, Iraq of the Syrian peace and the fight against the terror.
The visit also had a meeting with the owners of the top 20 companies in Saudi Arabia that come under the Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency (ISPAT) and also met the representatives of the Saudi press at the end of his three days visit.
The Prime Minister didn’t go alone and the entire visit was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Ministers Yalçın Akdoğan and Lüttfi Elvan, Economy Minister Mustafa Elitaş, Interior Minister Efkan Ala and other top officials including National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Chief Hakan Fidan.
The visit by the Prime Minister was made at the time when the tension between the Tehran and Riyadh was at the rarest height and post the implementation of important Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr on January Second.
