Keeping an available doctor in apartments, offices and grocery stores will be a must after law of Health and Safety at Work, which will be gone in effect in 1st of July.
Esen Evran, a cloumnist for Haberturk Newspaper, has spoken of the law of Health and Safety at Work, which will be gone in effect in 1st of July, in her column. Evran has stated that keeping an available doctor in apartments, offices and grocery stores will be a must.
1st of July 2016 stands for an important date for most of businesses in Turkey.
Law of Healt and Safety at Work about keeping an available workplace doctor or occupational safety specialist will be gone in effect in “less dangerous” workplaces, in which 50 people work, in 1st of July.
We mentioned about it before, but it is useful to remind it. It says in law: “No matter how many people you employ, you will have to fulfill this obligation.”
That means that it does not matter if you are a grocer or if you own an accounting office on your own, you will still have to keep a workplace doctor and occupational safety specialist. On the other hand, small businesses can buy service from such sectors rather than employing a workplace doctor or an occupational safety specialist.
Eczacibasi’s CEO, Anil Sugetiren says: “There will be complete chaos for companies.” And the reason is:
“Human resources departments will suffer too much. The number of active, insured employees is 22 billion, now. This is equal to 20.000 workplace doctors and 30.000 occupational safety specialists. We have 120.000 doctors in Turkey. 85.000 doctors work in the public sector, but 35-40.000 doctors are out of the public sector. Offices, branch banks, grocery stores are the places in which the most chaotic atmospehere will exist. There will be a chaos. It is going to be difficult to make the balance between supply and demand.”
