The French company Engie will establish Gas and Electricity Trade Platform in Istanbul. The company announced that they are negotiating with BOTAŞ about this investment.
In the written statement by the company, it is declared that Engie Group provides services in Turkey for more than 40 years. One of Engie’s FSRU terminals started its activity in Izmir as the first FSRU terminal of Turkey. Engie continues its projects on gas supply of Turkish market.
New Turkey Strategy
Engie CEO Denis Lohest declared that they want to increase their capacity in renewable energy projects in Turkey. By attending tenders, making long term relations with customers and supporting them on energy supply they will work for maintaining their position as the leader in the Turkish market. He mentioned that long term strong relations are key factors in their vision and they will do their best to be the trustworthy partner for their associates.
Gas and Electricity Trade Platform in Turkey
Engie said that the unit of Global Energy Management aims to connect the energy markets through Turkish market and apply the fast development plan by establishing a ‘gas and electricity platform’ in Istanbul. This way, they plan to optimize the market access increase the demand and provide energy risk management services for power plants and gas sales teams. Also, the company will share its 15 years of experience in customer services with third parties and provide active support on wholesale of gas and electricity.
The company was known as GDF Suez before, after April 2015 they changed its name to Engie.
